Is There a Way to Detox Effexor from the Body?10/06/2008 |
I have been weaning off of Effexor XR. I was taking 75mg thrice a day and have slowly weaned down to nothing. I would like to know if there is a detox product that would help get the last of this drug out of my system.
You are describing one of the difficulties in the discontinuation of Effexor. The first step is to determine whether any current symptoms are a re-emergence of symptoms of anxiety or depression or discontinuation of Effexor alone. The two alternatives are the discontinuation of an even smaller dose of Effexor for another 2 weeks or changing to a longer half life antidepressants in place of Effexor and again tapering with this new agent for another 2-4 weeks.
