Nocturnal symptoms10/13/2008 |
A few years ago I had my gallblader removed. A few months after removal I started to suffer from stomach cramps diarrhea and the need to make myself vomit a few hours after eating, I was advised to have a colonscopy and upper endoscopy done to rule out any serious problems. Both tests showed nothing serious other than mild diverticulos, all random biopsies taken were normal. My specalist prescribed Questran Lite which has helped a lot. my problem is I still get bouts of Nocturnal stomach cramps and the need to have a bowel movement, I have suffered from irritable bowel since my early teens I am now 58 Years old. I would appreciate your thoughts on what other things I could try to ease my symptoms.
Sounds like bile salt diarrhea, and is best managed with bile salt binders like you are currently taking.
