Alcohol and the healing of gum grafts10/13/2008 |
How soon after a gum graft may I drink wine?
Alcohol will delay wound healing. The survival of a soft tissue graft depends on formation of new blood vessels. Alcohol will hurt this procedure. Thus, you should not have alcohol-containing drinks at least for the first week of healing.
