COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
WHAT IS 4TH STAGE OF COPD MEAN ? IS THAT THE LAST STAGE?
The fourth stage of COPD as defined by the "Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease" carries the label very severe and is considered the last stage.
The criteria is based on pulmonary function testing results that measure the degree of a person's airflow obstruction. Persons with severe COPD may have more frequent episodes of cough, shortness of breath, thick sputum production, and fatigue. Patients typically have "good" and "bad" days. Symptoms can frequently be improved with medications and regular exercise, such as pulmonary rehabilitation.
