Stomach ache after eating10/24/2008 |
My daughter develops a stomach ache soon after eating. She`s 19 years old, no prior stomach problems until the last 5 months or so. We suspected she`s developing lactose intolerance, but it doesn`t seem to be tied to dairy. What kind of care should she seek? Thanks.
It could be a number of problems, including your idea of lactose intolerance. But that usually causes more of a gas/bloating sensation with or without diarrhea. Ulcers, gastritis (inflammation of stomach), gallbladder problems are just a few of the possible etiologies. I would suggest you start off by seeing a primary care doctor who will then decide if a specialist is necessary.
