Myasthenia Gravis

Improvement of symptoms during exercise

11/10/2008

Question:

Is there any correlation between exercise and helping the symptoms of MG? I have generalized MG, but my body seems to bee in full remission at the moment and i only have ocular symptoms(double vision).

Whenever I go to the gym and workout or if I go for a long run, my ocular symptoms, briefly improve. Any ideas on this?

Thanks in advance

Answer:

I am sorry but I don't have a good answer. Cold temperatures can improve the synaptic function. If you were running in cool weather, I could credit it to a drop in temperature of the exposed muscles. This does not sound like a good explanation, however, for improvement of symptoms while working out at the gym.
