Is there any difference in the types of genes I have the 2 mutation H63D gene. My doctor says the gene I have usually causes less problems is this true are they differences in each gene thank you for your time
What is important regarding hemochromatosis treatment is the degree of iron overload, so we want to maintain a ferritin in the normal range, regardless of genotype. It's really more dependent upon the degree of iron that is on board, not the genotype.
