Constipation relief for person with MG11/24/2008 |
Could you recommend a safe laxative to take for a person with MG who is constipated due to increased calcium intake and inability to take magnesium along with the calcium due to the MG?Obviously, Phillip`s Milk of Magnesia is out because of the magnesium. Is there something you could suggest that you know to be safe for people with MG? Thanks for your help.
In general, the goal is to achieve regularity. Using agents such as Metamucil (with plenty of fluid) and/or Senakot may be good choices. Make sure you speak with your treating neurologist and your primary care doctor to make sure that they think these would be good for you. Hope this helps.
