About kidney pain

11/10/2008

Question:

I went to a party the other night, and had way to much to drink. The last 3 days my kidney on the right side has been hurting -- no blood in urine just pain. It`s not horrible pain but very noticable pain. My friend said to drink a lot of cranberry juice, which I did, and feel no difference. How long should I wait to see a doctor or what could I do at home? And believe me that I have not touched any alcohol for 3 days now.

Answer:

Correctly speaking you are having right flank pain. Whether or not it is kidney related cannot be determined by the information you provide. It is possible you pulled a muscle in the area. It is also possible you have a kidney stone. This is not a complete list of possibilities and if the pain is not diminishing by the time you get this reply then you need to have a medical checkup to find the source of the pain.
