Isolated diastolic hypertension?11/14/2008 |
I`m 23 years old, recently quit smoking marijuana about 3 weeks ago. So decided to get a checkup since its been several years. I went in and my blood pressure was 160/90, but I was having really bad anxiety at the time. He advised to monitor it at home over the next week. So far its been anywhere from 109/92, 135/88, 124/84 which are a little more normal to upwards of 160/110 at different times. But the diastolic always seems to be higher even if the systolic is normal.
Should I be concerned?
Thank you for your question. Actually there is no evidence of effects of marijuana on blood pressure, and no effect on diastolic blood pressure.
