Could I have it/accuracy of genetic testing11/17/2008 |
I have an uncle and aunt with it, a sister who is recessive and a father with adult onset diabetes/liver problems.I have joint pain/decreased libido/and some upper right quad. pain with slightly elevated liver enzymes.If i get a genetic test how accurate is it?
The test is extremely accurate - greater than 99% sensitivity and specificity. That does not necessarily mean that your symptoms are related to your genotype. You would need to take this up with the doctor who is ordering the test, but the test is very accurate.
