Crushed vertebrae

12/10/2008

Question:

Is swimming beneficial to heal crushed vertebrae. After walking and floating on my back swimming moving arms I usually end up in a lot of pain after and the day after. I walk every day but still in a lot of pain. Accident happened 6 months ago. Are there any excercises for me to help myself getting back to normal.

Answer:

After 6 months, the vertebrae are most likely healed.  The residual pain that you are having can come from a variety of sources.  A physical therapy evaluation can identify the problem.
