Blood and mucus in stools
I am a 34 year old mother of 3. My youngest being just 5 months. During pregnancy I noticed that my stools were covered in a white web-like mucus, however dismissed it. Since having my third child The mucus has increased and is now mixed with blood. I also find that I have an increased urge to go to the toilet and quite often just pass the green blood streaked mucus on its own. When I do have a successful bowel movement I notice that the stool is covered with a combination of blood and mucus. I do not suffer any pain or diarhorrea, but do suffer with excessive gas. Could it be a bacterial infection?
More likely is an inflammation of the lining of the colon or rectum. Please call your GI doctor for an evaluation and possible endoscopic evaluation to help find the answer!
