White patch after tooth extraction12/29/2008 |
Hi,I had an extraction done on my upper back tooth exactly a week ago, I am experiencing no pain but the patch of gum directly above the extration whole is completely white. It has been that way since the day of the extraction. Is it because no blood is reaching that area of gum and will it remain that way?
It may be just food impaction. Generally, if you have exposed bone (and/or infection at bone level), it comes with pain and bad taste. Thus, it sounds like you may have leftover food debris sitting at the extraction site.
