White coating on the tongue, ulcers01/06/2009 |
Female, 35yrs, married recently..i have few ulcers seen as clusters on the center of the tongue, and the surrounding area has a thin white coating and pinkish areas..the ulcerative part is slightly irritating, and hurts mildly on trying to clean..its been there for ,more than a week now..
What you are describing could be a common, harmless condition known as "geographic tongue". If your tongue does not seem to fit this description, you should see an oral pathologist for further evaluation so an appropriate diagnosis can be made.
