Yeast infection01/26/2009 |
i am sexually active with a man that is having sex with another woman also. she has a yeast infection and is not treating herself. can i get the infection?
Most of the studies that looked at treating male partners to prevent recurrent yeast infections showed that treatment had no effect. So it would appear that he can't be the one transmitting the yeast, but this didn't take into account another female partner who has yeast. It is possible if he has yeast from recent sexual activity, he could carry it to you. Yeast infections actually aren't necessarily infections in the sense that one person gets it from another. It usually comes from your own GI tract.
