T2 lesion in the left lung01/12/2009 |
I had a MRI of the cervical spine without contract done and they founda high T@ lesion in the left lung measuring aprox 1.8 cm. What does this mean? Do I have a tumor and could it be cancer?
A T2 bright lesion could be an infection or a tumor. The best follow up at this point is to get a Chest CT scan with contrast (if possible) to determine the character of this lesion. Depending on the character of the lesion on the CT scan, age, smoking status we can determine the likelihood of cancer. My recommendation will be to follow up with a Pulmonologist to determine if it needs to be observed or biopsied once the CT chest is done. Thanks.
