Tongue chewing

My two year old granddaughter has what looks like raw chewed strips down both sides of the top of her tongue. It is not geographic tongue and it has healed and now is back. Could chewing a taggie blanket cause her to chew the top of her tongue? It is so raw that it hurts for her to eat. I suggested that they take the blanket away to see if it heals again.

Your granddaughter needs to be examined by a pediatric dentist to assess and diagnose this problem.
