Long term use of phenytoin01/21/2009 |
I had auras and my one one only seizure in 1991. I have been on 400mg of phenytoin taken once daily at night. What can you tell me about the long term negative effects of this level of phenytoin.
Long term use of phenytoin may be associated with peripheral neuropathy (numbness in feet) or osteoporosis. Do not stop seizure medication without discussing with your health care provider.
