I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT MY BLOOD IS VERY THICK AND I HAD TO GO HAVE A UNIT REMOVED. WHAT CAUSES THIS AND WHAT TREATMENTS ARE NORMAL.
By thick blood, I am assuming that you have an increased number of red blood cells. This can happen for many reasons. It could be related to a blood disorder called Polycythemia Rubra Very, but it could also be from dehydration or secondary to another medical problem such as chronic lung problems (secondary polycythemia).It is not possible to make any definitive statements without being able to talk to you and examine you, but I would encourage you to ask these same questions of your physician.
