Ear, Nose, and Throat Disorders

Sensation of something crawling into my ear

01/27/2009

Question:

My right ear often feels like I have a little bug crawling in and around my ear. I keep putting my finger in it and rubbing around to get the feeling to go away. It usually doesn`t.

Answer:

While it may be unlikely that you have something actually crawling around in your ear, its still worthwhile seeing your physician to have it evaluated. Many things can cause that type of sensation - ranging from typical ear wax, fluid in your ears, to an early infection, to an actual foreign body. Only way to tell is to have somebody look.
