Dry tongue and dentures01/27/2009 |
I had 4 teeth extracted in early Dec. and now wear a partial denture. Ever since wearing the denture I have been experiencing a very dry tongue which is sore and cracked. I can`t prevent my tongue from touching the denture plate almost constantly. I am now experiencing trouble speaking due to the dry tongue. The rest of my mouth seems to be moist and okay. Do you have any suggestions?
Be patient and drink a lots of water; the sensation will go away eventually. If not, start thinking about replacing the partial for implants or a fixed bridge.
