What Does a Sed Rate of 34 and an Absolute Eosinophils of 11 Indicate?
I went to the doctor because my hands started to hurt really bad. I currently have already been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, but am getting worse. Test showed that my sed rate is high wtih 34 and a low Absolute Eosinpphils 11. What does this mean?
The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is a non-specific, indirect marker that may correlate with an inflammatory response. The results of the ESR do not indicate the source of the inflammatory response. Due to its non-specific nature and propensity for non-meaningful elevations, the ESR should be utilized and interpreted with caution. Additionally, ESR results tend to naturally increase with age.
