Does increased levels of antibodies of .85 that started at .47 mean a patient is coming out of remission or can that flucuate?
I usually do not use the antibodies for anything more than diagnostic purposes. It is an assay, meaning that it is a chemical procedure performed in the lab to try and determine the antibody's presence. There can be variability based on the lab, based on the lab technician, and based on the sample. Slight changes in titer must be interpreted with caution. Better always should be the patient's clinical history and exam in determining if the myasthenia is rearing its ugly head.
