Can you tell me when this drug will be available in the US,thank you.
The results of the recent large U.S. and international pirfenidone study have not yet been released by the Intermune company. If the study does show that pirfenidone is effective in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, then an application will be submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FDA then has several months to review the data before deciding whether to allow the drug to be sold in the U.S.
