Sore throat three months after crown02/02/2009 |
I had a crown placed and was, of course, given several shots by my dentist. Shortly thereafter, I developed a severe sore throat that did not go away for 3 months. It was so severe that I missed many days of work during that time. I saw an ENT who conducted many tests, including a CAT scan of my throat. Nothing could be detected. After 3 months, my sore throat went away and never returned. Was this some type of reaction to the shot I was given possibly? I asked both the dentist and the ENT and neither thought it was possible, however, I had no problems at all until I went to the dentist and received the shot.
The sore throat is unlikely to be related to dental treatment or local anesthesia. I am glad you are better.
