Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis w/Pregnancy02/25/2009 |
I was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis in 2006. I am trying to find any studies on pregnancy rates in women with this disorder. Does anyone know of any immediate danger to the mother or child during pregnancy if the mother has this condition?
I am not aware of any direct issues involving risk to mother or fetus in patients with this condition IF it is truly primary eosinophilic gastro enteritis. The condition may be secondary to other conditions (e.g. parasites etc.) but these are rare in this country. The medications used to treat symptomatic eosinophilic gastroenteritis may pose a threat to a fetus and these should be discussed with your OB-GYN physician.
