i am a 52 year old woman that slipped on ice, never hitting ground, since this has happened i have have serious and chronic rib pain that runs under left breast area from sternum to back. I can not sit for very long that the pain worsens same thing with walking or standing i`ve tried to explain to physicians that it feels like an extra rib is in there, i have had x-rays and mri`s showing no break or fracture however pain has been constant since dec 2007. Please help
It looks like this may be coming for your thoracic spine. You may want to ask your primary care physician to order a thoracic spine MRI to the rule out thoracic disc herniation.
