Large bowel movement

03/10/2009

Question:

My daughter is 10 years old. She is always complaining of her stomach. She only has a bowel movement once a week all the time. The bowel movement is so large it stops up the toilet. Also she bleeds everytime, and it`s no other time until she has a bowel movement and that`s because it`s to big. Do I need to put some kind of ointment on her hemmroids, so she will not bleed and what kind of medicince can I give her so this will not affect her anymore.

Answer:

I would discuss this with your daughter's primary care provider who may well be able to help with her constipation, which will in turn take care of the bleeding and the toilet plugging up.
