Prostate Cancer |
PSA Too High04/28/2009 |
I had a PSA reading of 172.9. My doctor rang this morning and I am worried. What kinds of questions should I ask my doctor about this reading?
While an elevated PSA can be a result of prostate cancer, most of the time, an elevated PSA is a result of non-cancer causes, such as a urinary or prostate infection or inflammation, urinary retention or prostate enlargement. You will want your doctor to make sure you are actually emptying your bladder completely, and have no urinary or prostate infection.
