what is spiculated ?
Thank you for your question. Spiculated implies that a nodule has irregular or "jagged" borders. During the process of assessing a new lung nodule, in addition to assessing the chronicity, size and location of the nodule, we also consider radiographic appearance. While not definitive, a spiculated nodule raises the suspicion for malignancy as opposed to a nodule with smooth borders.
