Anesthesia

Cumulative Effects of General Anesthesia.

04/01/2009

Question:

I`ve had 32 surgeries from the time that I was 6 months old up until I was 19. And I was wondering if there are any cumulative cognitive effects that can result from being put under that many times. I`ve got a great memory for long term events, but my short term memory can be a bit sketchy at times. Could that possibly be from the lingering effects of anesthesia? Or is it more likely that it`s from a separate issue?

Thanks!
