Microalbuminuria04/07/2009 |
My mothers lab results indicated that her microalbumin is at :25.4 and her Ur Creatinine is at : 21 also her Microalbumin: Creat Ratio Note is at 1221. In your opinion is there hope to just try and maintain these levels or are we surely looking at a more serious picture? Her appointment with her nephrologist is at the end of the month. Hard to wait just for his summary of the situation. Her problem has been ongoing for quite some time. Thanks.
Clearly your mother has proteinuria (beyond microalbuminuria). It is important to control proteinuria, otherwise it may further damage kidney function. Depending on the etiology of proteinuria there are various traetments. Your nephrologist will be able to formulate a treatment plan.
