Post-pnuemonia water in lungs?
I was treated for pnuemonia 6 weeks ago. I still cough but now feel like I am drownng at times. I cough up a very water like clear substance. I thought I was getting better but now am not sure. Is it normal to feel like this while getting over pnuemonia? I am a 45 year old, otherwise healthy female.
It is not normal to cough up excessive amounts of fluid, or to "feel like you are drowning." I would recommend that you seek re-evaluation from a physician to further investigate this. This may represent slow resolution of the pneumonia, but other things such as sinus disease, asthma, gastro-esophageal reflux, or fluid in the lungs (pulmonary edema) can cause similar symptoms.
