What is pansinus disease?

04/20/2009

Question:

I have researched pansinus disease but still don`t understand can it cause death?

Answer:

Pansinus disease or pansinusitis simply means all the sinus cavities are inflamed.  We have multiple cavities located within the facial skeleton that drain into the nose.  Sometimes one or two may be inflamed or infected, but in more severe infections, all of the cavities may be involved.

In general it is not life threatening.  It is usually associated with significant symptoms, and so should be treated.  Your best bet is to consult a local otolaryngologist.
