Smelly Offensive Urine05/19/2009 |
Have taken continual rotating antibiotics for for 22yrs+. Have a mitrofonoff. Still have continual bladder infections and other problems. Diagnosed with pyoderma gangrenosum and now on both oral and topical steroids. Urine normally smells yuk now offensive and embarressing and a nightmare if I need to pass urine when out. Smell lingers for hours. Could it be the steroids?
Not likely to be the steroids, but chronic infection/inflammation caused by urine colonized with bacteria. I presume that urine cultures have been done but also evaluation of the bladder to be sure you do not have a stone or possibly developed a bladder diverticula.
