Post op PSA for Radical Prostatectomy05/08/2009 |
My husband underwent a radical prostatectomy four weeks ago having the da Vinci robotic assisted proceudre. His post op PSA was .06. It was taken at 3 1/2 weeks. We had been told it needed to be .01 or .02 at six weeks to indicate that all the cancer had been removed. Do you think the .06 indicates a problem? Or did the early testing at 3 1/2 cause this reading?
I am feeling concern. Should his PSA be read again at 6 weeks?
Your answer will give me peace of mind. Thank you.
