Endometrial Ablation (Novasure) on Coumadin05/21/2009 |
I am 52. After one year without my period, I began bleeding again. My gynocologist has recommended endometrial ablation. However I am a 6 mg per day Coumadin patient (for a mechanical heart valve). The GYN has suggested I go off the Coumadin for a couple days before the procedure, and I am afraid to do this. I have heard several experiences where people have had strokes once they resumed their regular Coumadin dose. What is your opinion on this? Thanks.
I think this a reasonable concern and would suggest that you talk to your cardiologist.
