Bump on the Inside of My Gum05/29/2009 |
Hi i have had this small pink bump on the lower right side of my gum for a couple of weeks now. It doesn`t hurt but also doesn`t seem to want to pop. I hasn`t gotten any bigger but is kind of annoying just wondering what i should do about it.
There are several benign (not cancer) tumors and cysts that can affect the gums, producing a bump as you describe, and you may be developing one of these. It would be impossible to say exactly what this is without doing an examination, and perhaps removing the bump for examination under the microscope. Some of these lesions can grow rather large, so it would be a good idea to find out what this is. You should consider seeing a periodontist (gum specialist) or oral surgeon for further evaluation and treatment.
