Do hormones cause hives?
I have gotten hives three times in the last month. I am a breastfeeding new mother, and I just re-started my period last month. I usually never get hives, but I remember now that I got them a few times back when I was still breastfeeding my older child. Is there a hormonal connection?
Chronic hives may be associated with the female hormone progesterone or birth control tablets containing chemicals with similar effects. Progesterone levels are elevated during lactation.
