Vaginal discharge

06/29/2009

Question:

I have a vaginal discharge off-white to white in color thick texture. No odor, smells like antibiotics. I have have itching and burning.

Answer:

This sounds like you may have a yeast infection although it's hard to tell without an exam. If you've been on antibiotics lately, there is a good probability that you have developed a yeast infection. If you have tried the over-the-counter Monistat or similar remedy and it doesn't clear up, please be sure to see your provider so that you can get some other medication that requires a prescription.

Some active culture yogurt in conjunction with the medication might also help as you probably need to have some of the good bacteria regrow in your vaginal tissue. The yogurt will help restore your tissue to the correct pH level to encourage this. Hope this helps.
