Raspy throat and crackly voice06/30/2009 |
I am a 67 year old female that has had a slightly enlarged thyroid with a solid nodule on each side, but it still produces the hormones. Lately I have had a crackly voice, a hollow feel and I have to repeatedly clear my throat. It is not sore just bothersome. I started using estrogen creme, under doctor`s orders, since the middle of May. That is the only change in medication that I am doing. Can you give me any insight on this problem? Thank you
Unfortunately, I do not have enough information to give you detailed information. I would recommend a thyroid ultrasound and voice evaluation by an ENT physician. This would give a more detailed evaluation of your condition and insight into treatment.
