Question:

I have some shrtness of breath my oxygen is fair. I had Pneumonia then scar tissue in one lung Had a cat scan and other tests and My Doctor said I had Fibrosis and she could do nothing for me and tat was it. Is it possible she is wrong. I have no other symptoms of Figrosis

Answer:

The main symptom of fibrosis (scar) in the lung is shortness of breath. Some patients can also have cough. Many conditions can cause fibrosis, including past pneumonia. Some types of fibrosis will get progressively worse over time and other types of fibrosis will remain stable over a person's life. You should ask your physician what the diagnosis is and what condition has caused the fibrosis. The type of condition that has caused the fibrosis will determine what the prognosis is.
