Have I got cancer07/28/2009 |
i have just recieved results of a ct scan. It shows that i have a elevated right hemidiaphragm. also shows 2 areas of atelectasis. What does this mean .I am worried as two of my brothers died of lung cancer One of them was a smoker. I have never smoked
An elevated diaphragm can be from a lot of different causes. If they don't see a mass in the upper chest, it is unlikely due to cancer. Atelectasis is due to the compression of the lung from the diaphragm. I would recommend that you be seen by a pulmonary specialist to evaluate this.
I hope this helps.
