if you had to get bottom teeth filed down in order for them to fit back in line during orthodontal treatment would it cause the teeth to become unbalanced and the top and bottom arches of teeth might not sit on top of each other properly cause the bottom arch will be smaller then it should have been due to the fileing of the teeth.i read this on a website and wanted to know if it was true,or does filing of teeth have no effect at all in the way the dental arces sit together thank you any information will be welcome.
Not true. The amount removed is only a few microns. What it does is change the contact point from a one point contact to a more square contact, aiding stability.
