Swelling07/30/2009 |
got a front tooth filled yesterday evening, the swelling went down but after i went to bed i have got up with my upper lip so swollen it is protruding over my bottom lip and my lower left jaw is swelling. Tried ice, didnt help at all.
It is possible that the decay in the tooth went to the nerve and you have an abscess. If that is the case, you may need a root canal. That doesn't explain the lower swelling at all. I guess my next question is do you have an allergy to latex or something else that may have been used in your dentist's office? That could explain both situations.
I would call the dentist and explain the situation. If the swelling on the upper affects your vision at all or the lower swelling affects your swallowing or breathing, go to the emergency room immediately.
