Question:

What is the average weight of a 5`3 tall 98 pound male?

Answer:

You don't say what your age is and I would rather consider what is an appropriate BMI (Body Mass Index), which is a measure of your weight for your height (BMI = your weight in kilograms divided by the square of your height in meters). Your BMI is 17.4. This BMI is on the lower side of normal, if you are in your mid teens (15?). If you are an adult male (20 or over), this BMI would be slightly below normal. A BMI of 18.5 is the dividing line between normal weight and below normal/under weight in adults. If you want to calculate your BMI here is some information on how to do it using pounds and inches instead of the metric system. BMI formula BMI = weight (pounds) / [height (inches)] X [height inches)] X 703 Calculate BMI by dividing weight in pounds by height in inches squared and multiplying by a conversion factor of 703. A normal BMI for an adult male is between 18.5 and 24.9. For children and teens the BMI is age and gender specific (it isn't for adults) and is usually considered as a percentile. A healthy weight is between the 5th and 85th percentile. A 15 year old male who is 5 foot 3 inches and 98 pounds is at the 12th percentile.
