Question:

My wife has been given a course of FSH-75 IU for first 6 days and HMG-75 for next 6 days. On the 14th day gave Pubergen JO (HCG 7500). With this course will there be conception?

Answer:

The combination of FSH, HMG and HCG are part of a common protocol to stimulate the ovaries to ovulate. The chance of getting pregnant after this type of treatment depends on the women's age, the condition of the uterus and tubes, and the semen analysis. In a woman under 35 years of age with a normal uterus and tubes and a husband with a normal semen analysis, the chance of getting pregnancy each month after intrauterine insemination is approximately 10 to 20%. Increased age of the women or certain other medical conditions can decrease these chances.
