Can seroquel decrease hallucination in PD?08/06/2009 |
My mother is 82yo and has had PD for 12 years. In the past 6 mos; her hallucinations are worsening; especially at night. Her only medication for PD is sinemet 25mg/100. She takes 6/day. Her neurologist has prescribed 12.5mg seroquel at night to help her sleep and relieve the hallucinations. Can then increase to 25mg as needed Is this OK? Thank you.
This is the exact treatment for these symptoms. Certainly doses of seroquel need to be titrated to response while evaluating any side effects, but this is clearly first line treatment.
