Bilateral Medical Renal Disease with Cortical08/06/2009 |
Dear Sir/ Madam: After receiving the lab test of my mother, the test report indicated that she has bilateral medical renal disease w/ cotical cysts (1.8 X 1.4 cm on interpole and 0.48 cm on lower pole). Please kindly help advised what does this mean and the treatmet she needed. Thank you very much for your help. Best regards
"Medical renal disease" simply means that her kidneys contain scar tissue, which can be caused by many different diseases (such as diabetes, hypertension, hardening of the arteries). Cysts (especially small ones, such as she has) are very common in older people and probably mean nothing.
